FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority and it is a regulatory authority by Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 which is looked after by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The objective of FSSAI is to ensure that any food produced, distributed or sold in India is safe for consumption. In order to fulfill its objective, FSSAI must register all food related businesses either with FSSAI or they will have to obtain a license.
